Senior Backend Engineer

• Design and build backend services for checkout, payments, and order fulfillment
• Own the reliability of high-traffic API endpoints, including on-call rotation
• Review pull requests and mentor other engineers on the team
• Work with product and design to scope features from requirements to shipped code

• 4+ years building production backend systems
• Strong TypeScript/Node.js, and comfort with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• Experience designing APIs consumed by web and mobile clients
• Can debug a production incident under pressure and write up what happened afterward

• Experience with payment gateways or financial systems
• Familiarity with East African mobile money (MTN MoMo, Airtel Money)
