TuDu operates under a strict Prepayment Escrow Invariant. Cash on delivery is not offered and couriers are strictly prohibited from accepting cash payments at doorstep. All orders must be settled electronically before merchant dispatch.
Prepayment protects both buyers and merchants. Your funds are held securely in TuDu Secure Pay escrow and are never released to the seller until you inspect your items and confirm receipt or the confirmation period elapses. This prevents fraud, doorstep extortion, and counterfeit disputes.
You can pay using MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or your TuDu Wallet balance at checkout. If an order cannot be fulfilled or arrives damaged, your escrowed funds are refunded promptly.
No. Couriers cannot collect cash. Any request by a courier or seller for off platform cash is a violation of TuDu policy and should be reported to customer support immediately.
Yes. Payment remains held in escrow under Bank of Uganda National Payment Systems regulations until you verify your items at delivery.
